78-Year-Old Driver Killed in Milford Crossover Crash on Route 113

Milford Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that killed a 78-year-old man Tuesday morning on South DuPont Boulevard.
Around 9:55 a.m. on October 13, a 2011 Cadillac SRX SUV traveling southbound on Route 113, just south of Old Shawnee Road, crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes for reasons still unknown. The SUV continued driving south in the northbound lanes before striking a guardrail, leaving the roadway, and coming to rest in a wooded area just north of Marvel Road.
The driver, the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
South DuPont Boulevard was closed for about two hours while investigators examined the scene and crews cleared the roadway. The Milford Police Department’s Fatal Accident Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate.
