Heavy Marinara, Heavy Laughs: Maino Turns Rick Ross’ Viral Jail Speech Into a Halloween Costume

Maino understood the assignment this Halloween — and the assignment was rigatoni with heavy marinara.

The Brooklyn rapper stepped out in a full Rick Ross costume, complete with a fake beard, facial tattoos, and oversized designer sunglasses, and recreated Rozay’s now-legendary speech outside a Miami jail earlier this month. In an Instagram video, Maino walked toward the camera and delivered the lines fans have been quoting for weeks.

“I need silence,” he announced, channeling Ross’ delivery, before insisting he was innocent of the allegations against him and laying out the travel plans that made the original moment so unforgettable: stops in Dubai and Paris, then a plate of pasta. “HEAVY MARINARA!!!…Halloween Edition,” Maino captioned the post.

For anyone who missed it, the original clip came after Ross posted a $5,000 bond and addressed reporters outside the jail. He declared the accusations against him were fabricated, then pivoted — memorably — to his weekend itinerary, which included a trip to Paris where he intended to enjoy a bowl of rigatoni with heavy marinara sauce. The moment only got funnier when Ross actually followed through, later sharing footage of himself in Paris enjoying the very meal he had described.

Maino’s parody appears to be tied to an upcoming Halloween episode of Let’s Rap About It, the show he cohosts with Jim Jones, Fabolous, and Dave East. He hasn’t said whether Ross knew about the costume beforehand — but given how good-natured Ross has been about the meme so far, fans are hoping the Biggest Boss takes it in stride.

It is worth noting that while the costume is all laughs, the legal matter behind Ross’ arrest remains serious. His scheduled October 22 arraignment was postponed after his attorneys said prosecutors hadn’t formally filed charges, and his next hearing is set for November 6, giving prosecutors more time to decide how to proceed.

For now, though, Halloween belongs to Maino — and to heavy marinara.

What do you think — did Maino nail the Ross impression, or is this costume a little too close to home? Drop your take in the comments, and hit us with your requests on the request line at +1 302-357-9831. Happy Halloween, Kiss family!
