Two Dover Men Charged in Armed Home Invasion That Targeted 15-Year-Old Girl

Dover, DE — Two 30-year-old Dover men are facing charges after an armed home invasion last month left a 15-year-old girl at gunpoint inside her own home.
It happened late on September 16 at a residence in the 100 block of Cherry Street. Investigators say a masked man slipped in through an unsecured rear door or window and pointed a black handgun at the teen, who was sitting on a downstairs couch, demanding money. When she told him she did not know what money he was talking about, he grabbed an iPad, an iPhone, four bottles of medication and a Nintendo Switch charging dock, then ran out the back of the house. Four other family members were asleep upstairs at the time. The girl was not physically hurt.
Detectives identified two suspects and secured warrants for both. One of the men had already been behind bars at the Sussex Community Corrections Center since September 17 on unrelated charges; he was interviewed and remains in custody pending arraignment. The second suspect was taken into custody on October 21 with help from Probation and Parole, then processed, arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $154,000 cash bond.
The suspects face charges including first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and second-degree conspiracy, according to First State Update. The men have not been named — per WDEL, their names are being withheld under Delaware’s new law limiting what police can release about arrests.
