50 Cent Offers to Bond Out Man Accused of Pistol-Whipping Rick Ross’ Son — Then Sparks Heated Feud With Tia Kemp

Nothing stays quiet for long when 50 Cent and Rick Ross are involved — and the latest chapter in their never-ending rivalry has pulled in Ross’ son, his mother, and a Florida assault case that’s turning messier by the day.
Last Friday (Oct. 16), police in Daytona Beach, Florida, booked 20-year-old Don Roberts on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery, according to records obtained by XXL. The arrest stems from an Oct. 11 incident near Bethune-Cookman University, where Rick Ross’ son, William Roberts III — a former Bethune-Cookman football player — told police he was standing on a sidewalk with a woman when a car pulled up. The driver, identified as Roberts, allegedly got out, pointed a gun at William, and declared, “I don’t care who your daddy is, I’ll kill you right here,” before striking him on the side of the head with the firearm. William suffered minor swelling, declined medical attention, and later picked the suspect out of a police lineup. Investigators say the attack was not caught on camera, and the motive remains unclear.
Enter 50 Cent, Ross’ longtime nemesis, who wasted no time turning the situation into social media theater. “Damn got the man arrested, 👀 why he didn’t just call his dad. He probably called the cops for him. LOL,” 50 wrote on Instagram, before adding, “What’s his name, get me his info I’m bonding him out!” In a follow-up post featuring the suspect’s booking photo, 50 declared, “I got him he will be out tomorrow I’m sending @drewfindling” — name-dropping famed hip-hop defense attorney Drew Findling — and joked the whole thing was “a street fight,” adding, “I mean STREET FIGHTER is in theaters! LOL.”
William’s mother, Tia Kemp, was not amused. Kemp — once friendly with 50, who had previously supported her during her own public disagreements with Ross — unleashed a heated tirade on Instagram, posting 50 alongside his ex Daphne Joy and their son Sire with the caption, “U have NO room to post anyone’s child.” Her post included explicit accusations that have not been independently substantiated, plus a video rant blasting 50 for making light of her son’s alleged assault. 50 fired back with his own jab: “Damn Tia you sound tougher than ya boy, I ain’t got time to argue with you,” while sneaking in another plug for his Street Fighter movie and adding, “you know I love you girl.”
Don Roberts has pleaded not guilty, and a bail hearing is scheduled for Wednesday (Oct. 21). XXL has reached out to Daytona Beach police and Rick Ross’ team for comment.
