FBI Investigates Delaware Man Over Alleged Threats Against Federal Officials

A New Castle man is facing federal gun charges after investigators say his social media posts called for violence against federal officials.
Court documents cited by the U.S. Attorney’s Office say 66-year-old Gregory Wierzbicki posted the threats on social media from at least April 2025 through last month, targeting Supreme Court justices and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. Prosecutors say he urged others to “form an armed militia” and detailed the firearms and ammunition he owned.
Agents with the FBI Baltimore Joint Terrorism Task Force searched his home Wednesday under a warrant and found three firearms: a 12-gauge shotgun and two .22-caliber long rifles, according to the Justice Department.
U.S. Attorney Benjamin L. Wallace said his office and law-enforcement partners will act without hesitation to protect public servants. FBI Baltimore Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul said anyone who threatens others should not be surprised when the FBI shows up at their door.
Wierzbicki had an initial appearance Wednesday before a U.S. magistrate judge and was ordered temporarily detained pending a detention hearing scheduled for Monday.
Officials note a criminal complaint is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The government says the case is part of National Security Presidential Memorandum 7, a White House-directed interagency effort targeting political violence led by Joint Task Force Vanguard.
