Caught on Camera: Chris Brown’s 2023 London Nightclub Attack Video Surfaces Hours After He Avoids Jail

Written by on 26 October 2026

Just hours after a London judge decided Chris Brown would not spend a night behind bars, the footage at the heart of his case is now out in the open — and it is as jarring as prosecutors described.

The video, which surfaced publicly on Monday, captures the February 2023 confrontation on a packed London dance floor that led to Brown’s criminal case. In the clip, the singer can be seen swinging a tequila bottle at music producer Abraham Diaw, striking him in the head as the encounter spills across the floor and turns into a full brawl. According to TMZ, the ordeal lasts roughly 20 seconds, and Diaw was taken to the hospital afterward with injuries to his head and knee.

Brown is not the only person visible in the footage. His friend and vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu — known in music circles as Hoody Baby — is also seen jumping into the fracas, grabbing Diaw and throwing punches of his own. Both men later pleaded guilty to affray, a charge that covers unlawful violence that would make a reasonable person nearby fear for their safety.

The timing of the video’s release is what makes it sting. Earlier on Monday, Brown learned his fate in court: an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, meaning he stays free as long as he keeps his record clean for the next year. Akinlolu received a four-month suspended sentence for his part. The judge made it clear that repeatedly swinging a glass bottle at someone’s head was plainly dangerous and could easily have caused a far worse injury — and that Brown’s fame earned him no special treatment in the courtroom.

Outside court, the scene looked very different. Fans greeted Brown with cheers as he left with a heavy security detail, his face covered by a mask, closing a chapter that has hung over him since the night in question more than three years ago.

That does not mean his legal calendar is clear. As HotNewHipHop notes, Brown still has matters waiting back home in the United States, including a dispute with a former housekeeper who was awarded millions over a dog attack, and a child support fight involving the mother of his daughter Lovely. For now, though, the London case is behind him — unless he gives the court a reason to revisit it.
