Coachella 2027 Reportedly Closing In on SZA, Dua Lipa, and Tame Impala as Headliners

The desert is calling, and if the latest reports are right, Coachella 2027 is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about lineups in years.

According to reports, SZA, Dua Lipa, and Tame Impala are close to being confirmed as the headliners for next year’s festival, which is scheduled for April 9–11 and April 16–18 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Sources familiar with the festival’s plans told TMZ that all three acts are nearing deals, and HotNewHipHop notes that HITS Daily Double had already identified Lipa and Tame Impala as expected headliners back in September, with SZA since confirmed as filling the remaining top slot.

Here is the important part: this is still a report, not an official announcement. Organizers have not yet revealed the 2027 roster, so nothing is locked in until they say so. But the pieces are lining up in a way that has fans buzzing.

The trio would bring three very different sounds to the top of the bill. Tame Impala previously headlined Coachella in 2019, so a return would be a victory lap for Kevin Parker’s psychedelic project. Dua Lipa has never performed a full solo set at the festival — she did make a guest appearance with Martin Garrix in 2017 — so a headlining slot would be a major milestone. And SZA, who has performed at Coachella before, including a prominent set in 2018, would be headlining for the first time if the reports hold.

The road to this lineup has had its twists. Drake was previously rumored as a possible headliner, alongside SZA and Radiohead, after BTS reportedly backed away from negotiations — but his name is absent from the latest reported trio. Reports also say organizers pursued BTS and Rage Against the Machine, but both groups declined.

This year’s festival, headlined by Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G, set a high bar. A bill topped by SZA, Dua Lipa, and Tame Impala would clear it in a completely different way — R&B royalty, pop precision, and psychedelic spectacle, all on the same desert stage.

Until the official announcement drops, treat this as a strong rumor with serious sourcing behind it — and start thinking about which weekend you would pick.
