## Purple Piano: Marshall Charloff’s One-Man Tribute to Prince Lights Up Smyrna Opera House Tonight

Smyrna is in for a purple reign tonight. **Marshall Charloff brings *Purple Piano*, his one-man tribute to Prince, to the Smyrna Opera House, 7 W South St, Smyrna, DE, on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 7:30 PM.**

Charloff performs the show solo at the piano, in the intimate style of Prince’s final “Piano & A Microphone” tour, weaving the highlights of Prince’s catalog into one highly interactive evening. It is the only production of its kind in the world, and it was so enthusiastically received that it landed a full-time residency in Las Vegas. Now on tour nationally, the show leans on Charloff’s musicianship and his mastery of working a room, turning a night of Prince hits into a shared sing-along.

If you love the music of Prince, this is a show you will not want to miss, and the Opera House is the perfect room for it: small, historic, and close enough that every note lands.

### HISTORY

Marshall Charloff’s pedigree runs straight through Prince’s world. He fronted the Purple XPeRIeNCE, the Prince tribute show he co-founded with Matt “Doctor” Fink, keyboardist of Prince & The Revolution, and he has played keys with the Atlanta Rhythm Section, written for and produced the Commodores, and been featured on guitar on albums with Prince himself. He has toured globally, headlined at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and fronted more than 25 of North America’s finest symphony orchestras. That lifetime of stages led to *Purple Piano*, his solo tribute in the style of Prince’s last tour, which held a Las Vegas residency before hitting the road.

Prince, born Prince Rogers Nelson in Minneapolis in 1958, rewrote what a pop star could be: singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer behind “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry,” “1999,” “Kiss,” and “Little Red Corvette.” His 1984 film and album *Purple Rain* became a cultural landmark, and his fearless blend of funk, rock, R&B, and pop still shapes the sound of the artists Kiss 101.7 plays every day. He died in April 2016, and tributes like Charloff’s keep his catalog alive in the rooms where fans gather to celebrate it.
