Get ready to sing along to every word. **The Sensational Soul Cruisers bring their *Destination Soultown* show to the Smyrna Opera House, 7 W South St, Smyrna, DE, on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, with doors opening at 2:30 PM.**
The concert focuses on iconic classic soul and Motown music from the birth of Motown in 1960 to the release of Michael Jackson’s *Thriller* in 1983. Joined by 11 performers, including a horn section, keyboardists, four vocalists, and a Rock & Soul rhythm section, the Destination Soultown Experience recreates note-for-note, absolutely live, choreographed versions of the classics, from the early pioneers of Motown and Stax Records to Carolina Beach Music and the Sound of Philadelphia.
Expect to hear the sounds of the Four Tops, the Temptations, the Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson, Sly and the Family Stone, the Spinners, Earth, Wind & Fire, Edwin Starr, Sam & Dave, Otis Redding, the Delfonics, Marvin Gaye, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, the Manhattans, Barry White, the Commodores, and the Stylistics, from the doo-wop of the Flamingos’ “I Only Have Eyes for You” to the dance floor of Kool & the Gang’s “Ladies Night.” A multimedia video backdrop runs through the show, making it one to be loved by all generations.
### HISTORY
The Sensational Soul Cruisers are an 11-piece, horn-driven old-school soul and R&B band from New Jersey’s Jersey Shore, under the tutelage of legendary saxophonist “Screamin'” Steve Barlotta, who has led the band for more than 30 years. Fronted by four soulful vocalists, the group pays homage to the very best of ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s classic soul, R&B, Motown, and disco, playing more than 200 performances a year in theaters, clubs, casinos, festivals, and outdoor concert series across the country.
Over three decades the Soul Cruisers have shared stages with Bruce Springsteen, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Gaynor, Gary U.S. Bonds, Bon Jovi, and Southside Johnny, and they served as the longtime house band at New York City’s famed Copacabana. In 2025 they signed with Banner Records and released their debut original single, “Deeper and Deeper,” a new chapter of Motown-style music from a band that has spent its career keeping the classics alive.
