A 45-year-old Townsend man was arrested last week on his fifth DUI charge — and released on an unsecured bond.
John Dillmore was stopped by Delaware State Police on October 7 around 11 a.m. on Route 1 near Fast Landing Road in Dover after a trooper saw his Ford F-150 make an illegal turn onto an emergency access road. The trooper observed signs of impairment and drug evidence in plain view, and Dillmore showed continued impairment during field sobriety tests.
A search turned up approximately 0.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a half-full flask of alcohol, and drug paraphernalia. A records check showed four prior DUI convictions.
Dillmore was charged with felony fifth-offense DUI involving drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to obey a traffic device. He was released on a $7,500 unsecured bond.
