50 Cent Claims “Power” Creator Courtney Kemp Slept With Cast and Crew After Her Clapback at Variety

Written by on 19 October 2026

The drama behind the Power universe just spilled all the way off the screen. 50 Cent recently told Variety that he never wants to work with Power creator and showrunner Courtney Kemp again — she fired back with a sharp statement of her own, and now Fif has escalated things even further with a jaw-dropping allegation.

It started with the Variety interview, where 50 said he doesn’t want to collaborate with Kemp in the future. He accused her of downplaying his role in the show’s creation and success, mismanaging budgets, and closing herself off to his ideas. Variety reached out to Kemp for a response, and she didn’t hold back.

“While 50’s recollection of budgets and production requirements is uninformed, as he was rarely in a budget meeting, I have never once understated his importance in the genesis of Power,” Kemp stated. “While he did not write nor create the series, he was a large part of its birth. That said, I am completely bewildered by his need to mention me in interviews or podcasts. I have completely moved on in my career, and I hope that the imminent success of Street Fighter allows him to do the same.”

That last line — wishing 50 well while telling him to move on — was clearly the classiest possible way to say “we’re done here.” But 50 caught wind of it, and his response was anything but classy. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, October 18, he wrote: “Wow Variety ask me who I wasn’t looking forward to working with again so I said Courtney. I thought I was being nice I didn’t even mention her sleeping with cast and crew members.”

That’s a hefty allegation to drop casually in an Instagram caption, and it turns a professional falling-out into something deeply personal. There’s been no response from Kemp yet at press time, and you can imagine her camp is not thrilled with 50 resorting to gossip.

What makes this fallout sting is how far these two have fallen. Back in 2018, when Power was arguably at its peak of popularity and acclaim, 50 was publicly praising Kemp and the creative partnership they built together. They were one of TV’s most successful producer duos — executive producer and showrunner, hitmaker and storyteller. Now the distance between them looks unreconcilable, and the whole breakup is playing out in interviews and social media posts.

Whether Kemp responds to the latest claim remains to be seen. But the Power universe keeps expanding — with spinoffs and new series on the way — so this story probably isn’t over. We’ll be watching to see if cooler heads prevail or if Fif has more to say.

Kiss 101.7 wants your take — is 50 right to air this out, or should this have stayed behind the scenes? Let us know in the comments, and send your requests to +1 302-357-9831.
