50 Cent Takes Victory Lap Over “Street Fighter” Box Office — and Sneaks in a Shot at Rick Ross

Written by on 19 October 2026

Fifty Cent is having himself a weekend, and he made sure the whole internet knew it. The new Street Fighter movie — in which 50 acts and provides music — is leading the box office with a $51 million opening weekend, according to The Wrap, and Fif wasted zero time celebrating the debut. Never mind that the fighting-game adaptation is sitting at a rough 42% on Rotten Tomatoes at press time; when you’re number one at the box office, the critics can wait.

The G-Unit mogul took to his Instagram page on Sunday, October 18, to toast the film’s commercial success — and to squeeze in shots at everything else in his way. First up: Whalefall, the competing film premiering alongside Street Fighter. “You know damn well I wasn’t gonna be beat by a damn whale movie LOL,” 50 wrote, clearly amused at the thought of losing a box-office race to a sea creature.

Then came the petty — the kind of petty only this rivalry produces. “Fat boy gonna say bots brought the tickets,” he added, seemingly nodding at his longtime sparring partner Rick Ross. The jab traces back to Ross recently downplaying 50’s financial wins, levying “bot” allegations against the launch of 50’s new G-Unit sneakers and claiming the sales numbers weren’t as strong as Fif flaunted them to be. You can practically set your watch by this beef: one of them wins, the other one discredits it, and the cycle spins on.

It’s been that way for years. Most recently, 50 characterized the feud as comedy on The Crew Has It, saying the toughest kind of beef is one with someone in law enforcement: “When it [gets] hot, they’re just going to tell, bro.” Whether you find the back-and-forth entertaining or exhausting probably depends on your tolerance for two grown men trading bars from a yacht and a keyboard.

As for Ross, he’s got his own headlines to worry about. The Maybach Music boss is facing domestic violence allegations after his ex-girlfriend Jazzma Kendrick accused him of abuse, and authorities in Miami arrested him on battery charges. It’s still not explicitly clear whether all the pieces connect, but the legal pressure is very real.

One thing’s certain: 50 will have plenty more chances to spin this story his way. Street Fighter isn’t leaving theaters anytime soon, and every weekend is another opportunity to remind Rick Ross — and the whale — who’s on top. And you better believe Ross is already cooking up a response.
