Funkmaster Flex Claps Back After Knicks Game Scuffle — And Now TT Torrez Accuses Him of Shoving Her at MSG

The New York Knicks’ season opener was supposed to be a celebration — championship rings, a banner raised to the rafters, and LeBron James making his Philadelphia 76ers debut at Madison Square Garden. But the biggest drama of the night didn’t happen on the court. It happened in the crowd, where Hip-Hop radio legend Funkmaster Flex found himself in the middle of a physical altercation that set social media ablaze.

By Wednesday morning, the Hot 97 icon was in full response mode. After reports surfaced claiming he had been assaulted during Tuesday night’s game, Flex took to Instagram to shut the rumors down with his signature all-caps energy.

“HAHAHAHAH! ASSAULTED WHEN? IM MINDING MY BUISNESS? SHADOW U MAD? WHO THAT WITH U?” Flex wrote, posting clips from the scuffle.

The “Shadow” in question is music executive Shadow Stokes — and Flex is pointing the finger squarely at him. “SHADOW STOKES COULD NEVER PUNCH ME! HES AN AMBULANCE CHASER!” he continued. “THIS MUSIC INDUSTRY COUPLE HAS AN ‘ACTIVE CASE’ AGAINST ME AND MY COMPANY! TRYING HARD TO BAIT ME INTO A PAYOUT! YALL AINT SMARTER THAN ME!”

Here’s where it gets even messier: the two men have real history. Stokes was a co-executive producer on Flex’s 2005 “Carshow Tour CD & DVD,” and he spent time on the label side of the business working radio records. Whatever turned their relationship cold, it’s clearly ice cold now. Flex promised his full account on Thursday at 7 p.m., teasing fans with a classic line: “I GOT A STORY TO TELL!”

But there’s a second side to this story. Former Hot 97 host TT Torrez is now accusing Flex of aggression — her representatives told TMZ that she and her husband were the actual victims that night. According to her reps, “a verbal exchange between her husband and Funkmaster Flex escalated into a physical confrontation in which Funkmaster Flex shoved her violently.”

Torrez’s team also claims she endured “years of ongoing harassment, intimidation, and bullying” from her former colleague, and says a prior legal dispute ended in a settlement with Mediaco/Hot 97 plus a non-disparagement agreement — one they claim Flex has continued to violate. For now, the NYPD says it has no information on the fight, and Madison Square Garden has yet to comment.
