Plot Twist: Future and Travis Scott Were NOT at Drake’s 40th Birthday Party After All
Written by Kiss Media on 27 October 2026
Just when you thought the Drake 40th birthday party recap was closed, DJ Akademiks hit rewind. The streamer now says two of the biggest names linked to the bash — Future and Travis Scott — were not actually inside Drake’s party at all.
The confusion started over the weekend, when a video circulated of Future and Travis Scott turning up with Loe Shimmy, previewing new music, and plenty of outlets — Akademiks included — reported it as footage from Drake’s 40th birthday celebration in New York City on October 24. On Monday night, Akademiks went live and corrected the record himself.
“I think Trav did show up to the door,” Akademiks said on his stream. “But I don’t know if Future showed up. I don’t know what happened with that. I don’t know if he didn’t get let in, I don’t know if the cops was wilding but I know he left from there. And the people with him told all the b**ches outside Drake’s party, ‘Yo, come to this other spot. This is what we got going on.’ And they went over there to preview mad music. So this is not Drake’s birthday party.”
In a separate clip, Akademiks added another wrinkle: he said Adam22 told him he saw Travis Scott inside Drake’s party, but Akademiks maintains he never saw him there himself. He also apologized to the publications that ran with the story, saying the error started with him.
None of this takes away from the night itself. Drake’s 40th was still a star-packed affair, with Sexyy Red, Loe Shimmy — at least before he headed to the other party — Bow Wow, and more in the building. At one point in the night, Drake made sure to give Bow Wow his flowers, shouting out the impact Bow had on him growing up.
It’s a reminder of how fast a viral clip can rewrite a story — and how quickly the correction has to chase it. Akademiks owning the mistake on his own platform is exactly how it should work: say it wrong, fix it loud.
