Kool DJ Red Alert Celebrates 50 Years Behind the Turntables at Sony Hall November 24

Hip-hop pioneer Kool DJ Red Alert brings The Red Alert Experience Gala to Sony Hall, 235 West 46th Street, New York, NY, on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Tickets start at $69.

In 2026, Red Alert marks an extraordinary milestone: 50 years behind the turntables, a journey he honors with his “Road to 5-0” anniversary celebration. Born in Antigua and raised in Harlem, he became one of hip-hop’s first mainstream radio DJs, breaking records on New York radio and helping carry the culture from Bronx block parties to the world stage.

Red Alert remains the only hip-hop DJ honored with a permanent display in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Radio Exhibit, and his public art exhibition The Red Alert Experience at New York’s Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal has been viewed by more than 2 million visitors. Today he still broadcasts six days a week on WBLS 107.5 FM.

Tickets are on sale now.
