Island Boys’ Flyysoulja Home After Overdose Horror: “I Had Been Clean” Before Miami Night Out
Written by Kiss Media on 3 November 2026

There is good news in a scary story out of Miami: Flyysoulja, one half of the viral Island Boys duo, is home from the hospital after an overdose that landed him in a trauma unit late last month.
According to TMZ, which Flyysoulja spoke to directly, the incident happened on Thursday, October 29, while he was out celebrating two big milestones — a new condo and a new car. He told the outlet he overdosed on a mix of cocaine, benzodiazepines, and Percocet, and was rushed to a Miami trauma unit. He remained in the hospital for four days and was released on Monday, November 2, which is when he was able to tell his story.
What makes the story hit harder is what Flyysoulja said about where he was before that night. He has been open about his struggles with addiction for years, and he told TMZ he had been clean for a stretch before the celebration turned dangerous. It is a reminder of how fragile recovery can be, and how quickly one night can undo a lot of hard work.
He also said he was placed under Florida’s Baker Act, which means he underwent an involuntary mental health evaluation while in care. That is not new territory for him — he went through a similar evaluation back in November 2025 after a drug-related episode at his home, and he entered rehab in January 2026. Fans who have followed the Island Boys since their 2021 viral breakout know this has been a long, public road for Alex Venegas, whose twin brother Franky, known as Kodiyakredd, makes up the other half of the duo.
For now, the most important part is simple: he survived, he is out, and he is talking about it. There is no word yet on what treatment or next steps he plans, and that part is his to share when he is ready.
If you or someone you love is struggling with substance use, reaching out for help is never the wrong move — and it is never too late to start again.
We are wishing Flyysoulja a real, steady recovery. Drop some encouragement in the comments, and send your requests to the Kiss 101.7 request line, +1 302-357-9831.
