HISTORY
The Ladies of Hip-Hop (LOHH) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2004 to empower girls and women through hip-hop dance and culture, creating artistic opportunities where Black female street dancers take center stage. Led by executive director Michele Byrd-McPhee, the collective has earned commissions from Works & Process at the Guggenheim and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, preserving and celebrating the knowledge and beauty of generations of women in hip-hop. DJ Supreme’s pedigree runs deep in turntable culture — his legendary 1991 DMC U.S. Finals performance remains a defining moment in the history of the DJ battle, and his championship craft bridges old-school scratch fundamentals with modern showmanship. Host Roxey Romeo is a national radio voice who brings the energy to match.
