The November installment of the monthly Young Griots Club (every 4th Saturday) — interactive African folklore storytelling, a themed children’s art project, and cultural heritage lessons of the African Diaspora at the Alumni House Art Gallery in Wilmington.
**HISTORY:**
For centuries across West Africa, the Griot has been the keeper of memory — historian, praise singer, storyteller, and teacher all in one, passing a people’s story from generation to generation by word of mouth. The Young Griots Club plants that ancient tradition in Wilmington soil, giving Delaware children what no textbook can: a living connection to the African Diaspora, told the way it was always meant to be told — out loud, together, with art in their hands.
