Jay-Z Reportedly Picks HIMSELF to Headline the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Written by on 20 October 2026

Kiss 101.7 fam — talk about a boss move! Word is Hov is done waiting around. Fresh reports say Jay-Z has decided that if you want something done right, you do it yourself — and the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show is his next stage.

Puck News dropped the bombshell early Tuesday morning, citing multiple sources close to the situation: after months of rumblings that Roc Nation was struggling to lock in a headliner for Super Bowl LXI, Jay-Z has reportedly stepped up to take the slot himself. The report claims Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus were both asked to perform — and both turned the offer down.

Honestly? Cam’ron called this one months ago. Back in September, when word first circulated that the powers that be couldn’t find anyone for the gig, Cam and Ma$e were on “It Is What It Is” joking that Hov was just soft-launching himself as the performer all along. They even said they’d do the exact same thing in his shoes. Now that the report is out, those clips are going viral all over again. Cam’ron was a prophet on this one, and he’s got the receipts to prove it.

If this holds up, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Jay-Z is in the middle of a massive comeback year — celebrating 30 years since Reasonable Doubt and 25 years since The Blueprint. He’s been doing victory laps with shows at Yankee Stadium in New York, plus dates in France and London, and this weekend he’s got two nights at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California (October 23 and 24). And where is Super Bowl LXI being played? That’s right — SoFi Stadium, on February 14, 2027. A test run at the exact same venue three and a half months before the big game? That’s not a coincidence, that’s a dress rehearsal.

Before we crown him, though, pump the brakes just a little: the NFL, Jay-Z, and Roc Nation have not confirmed or denied the report as of this morning. This is the time of year when the halftime performer usually gets announced, so official word could be coming any day — maybe even this weekend in L.A.

A Hov halftime show would be one for the history books. If you need a reminder of why Jay owns the big stage, revisit his official “Empire State of Mind” video with Alicia Keys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk6014HuxcE. From Marcy to the main stage of the world — nobody does a moment bigger.
