Lil Wayne Concedes to Boosie BadAzz in Verzuz Battle: “You Got Me, Bro”

Lil Wayne is not about that smoke — at least not with Boosie BadAzz. The Young Money legend has officially conceded defeat in a hypothetical Verzuz battle against the Baton Rouge rapper, and the moment has the internet in stitches.

During an interview on the In The Bayou With Tyrann Mathieu podcast, which premiered on YouTube on Tuesday (Oct. 20), Weezy was asked about the viral video where Boosie challenged him to a 20-track Verzuz battle. And Wayne’s response was refreshingly humble.

“I saw that, man. I tell Boosie, man. My hands down, Boosie bro, you got me, bro,” Wayne said with a laugh. “I can’t f*** with you, dog. I can’t f*** with you, Boosie.” He kept the energy light the whole time, shouting him out instead of firing back: “You’re a dog… I’m good. You got me. Shout-out to Boosie, man.”

Earlier this month, a video went viral on social media showing Boosie convincing a group of people that he could easily win a Verzuz battle against any rapper. When Lil Wayne’s name came up, Boosie didn’t back down one bit: “Bring him on. You go get Wayne. I’m gon’ stand up like a muthaf**ka champ.”

The funniest moment of the interview, though, had nothing to do with music. Hosts Tyrann Mathieu and Tyrell McCall mentioned to Wayne that Boosie once served time in Louisiana’s notorious Angola prison — and the news left the “A Milli” rapper completely stunned.

“Man, Boosie been in Angola?” Wayne questioned before all three burst out laughing. Wayne went on to explain that he often tells his friends how brutal the facility is whenever a television news program profiles it, joking, “You thought we had an AI machine that picked cotton; we ain’t figured that one out yet.”

You can catch Wayne’s full response — including his priceless reaction about Angola — around the 22-minute mark of the episode. Watch the clip below.
