Kevin Gates Ordered to Pay Dreka $1 Million From His Music Catalog in Divorce Battle

Written by on 22 October 2026

The divorce battle between Kevin Gates and his estranged wife Dreka Gates just took a major financial turn. According to a TMZ report published Wednesday (Oct. 21), a judge has ordered the Baton Rouge rapper to pull $1 million out of his music catalog and hand it over to Dreka for child and spousal support.

Under the court order, profits from Kevin’s music catalog must be deposited into a Morgan Stanley account that will be managed by Robert Bracy, the CFO of Gates’ own record label, Bread Winner Alumni, with certified public accountant William Duerksen tapped as an authorized signatory on the account.

From those funds, $929,341.50 is earmarked for Dreka to cover child and spousal support, plus a separate $150,000 payout sent straight to her. Her legal team is set to receive $125,000 in attorney fees, $100,000 is allocated for her accountant, and $103,000 is set aside for a third-party mediator. Kevin, meanwhile, will get $538,798 upfront and $225,000 a month starting in October.

The split has been contentious from the start. Back in October of 2025, Dreka filed court documents seeking more than $70,000 a month in child and spousal support. The 40-year-old entrepreneur alleged that Kevin stopped paying for their children’s private school and property taxes back in 2021 and began to “dismantle the financial foundation of their family.” She also asked to be named the primary physical custodian of their two kids, 13-year-old Islah and 12-year-old Khaza.

Dreka initially filed for divorce in July of 2025, citing irreconcilable differences after ten years of marriage. Kevin appeared to confirm their separation on his 2022 track “Bad for Me,” though in divorce documents the “I Don’t Get Tired” rapper maintained the couple was never legally married.

Despite the legal drama, the music keeps moving. Press play on one of Kevin’s catalog cuts below, and stay locked in, because this divorce battle is clearly far from over.
