Teen Killed While Crossing I-95 in Wilmington, State Police Investigating

A 19-year-old man is dead after he was struck while trying to cross Interstate 95 in Wilmington on Thursday night, Delaware State Police said.
Troopers were called to I-95 near Frawley Stadium at about 8:15 p.m. on October 29 after 911 callers reported a man walking along the interstate. When troopers arrived, the pedestrian was seen attempting to run across the northbound lanes, where he was hit by a GMC Canyon.
The pedestrian, a 19-year-old man from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. His name is being withheld until his family has been notified. The driver of the GMC, a 59-year-old man from Wilmington, was not injured.
The roadway was closed for about three hours while troopers investigated the scene and cleared it. The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash.
