Musiq Soulchild and Kindred The Family Soul Light Up NJPAC Newark December 19
Neo-soul takes over Newark this December. Musiq Soulchild and Kindred The Family Soul perform together at Prudential Hall at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, 1 Center Street, in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
Philadelphia-born Musiq Soulchild helped define neo-soul in the early 2000s with his debut album Aijuswanaseing, blending R&B, soul, and jazz into a smooth, instantly recognizable sound. Songs like Love and Just Friends made him one of the genre’s leading voices, and he has earned multiple Grammy nominations along the way.
Kindred The Family Soul, the married duo of Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon, bring their own Philly soul story to the bill. Their debut album Surrender to Love, led by the single Far Away, built them a loyal following with rich harmonies and songs centered on love, family, and commitment.
