Music Manager Shannon Lolley Brings The Lyric Lounge Showcase To DE On May 18th

Written by on 7 May 2024

Music manager, Shannon Lolley stands on business! In a day and age when simply performing over your tracks at any generic venue can pass, Shannon puts a special focus on bringing a high quality, aesthetically pleasing show with a live band.

Everything from the venue to the talent and business ethics involved must meet a standard of excellence. And for nearly a decade, he has maintained that standard and reputation. Although he started out promoting Gospel Shows, he transitioned smoothly into the R&B space and touches on some Hip Hop as well.

But Shannon Lolley didn’t stop at just being a show runner; he recognized the need for guidance among artists in the local music scene in Delaware. So Shannon hand-picked a few artists to take under his wing where his passion for creating dope shows could act as a vehicle to benefit their careers.

With great talent on the artist side and the administrative side of things, Shannon Lolley and the artists under his company, 3G Management are building a strong foundation. Kiss 101.7 Online caught up with the busy manager and promoter:

Q. How did you get your start in the promotions and event planning?

A. I started as a result of my church, who sponsored large conferences and I assisted with the concerts. I started a management with a friend which led to us planning our artist events. In 2009 I officially launched my management, artist consulting, and event planning company.

Q. What other creative talents do you possess?

A. I used to sing a little bit in a choir. (Laughs). I have a keen ear and eye for talent. I can add life to an individual’s idea for events and shows, big or small. I have a love for live presentation by focusing on the aesthetics and sound, but over all the talent.

Q. What was your first big event?

A. 2018 was a major year for as far as events. I did my 1st event HeART of The CIty New Artist Showcase and the same year PINK GUMBO was held as well. Pink Gumbo has been my biggest event thus far.

Q. Can you tell us about Pink Gumbo and what inspired this event?

A. My mom is a Breast Cancer survivor and it was a trying period for my whole family. I want to support the fight against Breast Cancer, Pink Gumbo was birthed. Pink for the color of Breast Cancer (Awareness) and Gumbo because I fused multiple genres of music. The unique concept was an all-female artist lineup with various styles and a portion of the proceeds benefitted a local Breast Cancer organization who is on the front line for the fight against Breast Cancer.

Q. What has the impact been?

A. The impact has been phenomenal because attendees get a great show, donate to a cause, and get educated on the preventives or early check-ups for the disease. Also, I usually honor a community leader in the creative arts arena.

Q. Can you tell us about 3G Management?

A. 3G Management and Entertainment is a management company that does artist consultation, provides various services for the artist so they can concentrate on their craft. I also will assist with event planning and budgeting. I am very selective about who I work with because I want to keep positivity in the forefront of everything my artists and I do.

Q. Who are some of the artists you’re working with?

A. Young Seda, Camille Johnson, The Soul Synthesis Band, Brandon Furrowh, and Latoya Marie

Q. Have you done or do you plan to do any shows in other states and regions?

A. Yes, in my earlier years of management I had done shows between Connecticut and Georgia. One of my very short term goals will be to branch out with the artists I manage to do a mini tour or a spot date tour.

Q. I had the pleasure of attending a very intimate show you promoted that was like a “tiny desk” concert. Can you tell us about that concept and what your plans are for it?

A. Well, Latoya Marie came to me and mentioned she just needed to “shed” with some musicians. Shedding is usually done when a bunch of musicians and/or singers get together to just vibe and create. Well, once an artist brings me an idea or if I come up with an idea, I like to maximize the opportunity. So, the intimate setting was very intentional, Latoya and The Soul Synthesis band did not rehearse except a few minutes before the show. I told Latoya, “You are inviting people into your space, let them see what you do on a day at the shop when you are just singing.” I took it to the next level by inviting another artist and hired a sound and light company to enhance the experience. It turned out well and we will be doing another May 18th and July 13th at a bigger venue, but it will still be intimate and hopefully other artists will come out to vibe and create, we will be doing a “mic toss”.

Q. Is there anything more you would like our audience to know?

A. 3G Management encourages you to support artists and creatives especially the local artists. They are putting in the work, releasing great music, and giving awesome shows. Support! Support by purchasing their music on all digital platforms, support the events, and most importantly spread the word.

Q. What is your mission?

To assist, manage, and produce good quality artists and musicians who in turn produce good quality music. 3G remains resolved in setting new trends, birthing the inconceivable, and creating new opportunities for those we work for and those who work with us.
