Destiny’s Child Reunites in the Crowd as Jay-Z Salutes Nipsey Hussle at SoFi Stadium

Written by on 24 October 2026

Friday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood was more than a concert — it was a family reunion, a homecoming, and a history lesson all in one. Jay-Z opened the final weekend of his anniversary run celebrating 30 years since Reasonable Doubt, and the sold-out crowd got a night nobody in the building will forget.

The most talked-about moment didn’t even happen on stage. Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams — Destiny’s Child, together again — were spotted dancing together in a suite, cheering Jay-Z on. Beyoncé was there in two roles at once: the wife supporting her husband, and the proud mom watching her daughter shine.

That daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, had her own star turn. She joined her father onstage at the piano for “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents,” then hugged him and waved to the packed arena crowd.

The night’s most distinctly Los Angeles moment came when Jay-Z paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle. During “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” he wove in Nipsey’s “Hussle & Motivate” while the late Crenshaw rapper’s image filled the stadium screens. Later, the instrumental from “Last Time That I Checc’d” found its way into “On to the Next One.” Both Nipsey records come from his 2018 album Victory Lap, which earned a Best Rap Album Grammy nomination. The bond runs deep: when Nipsey was killed in March 2019, Jay-Z wrote a letter for his memorial program, and the two later shared “What It Feels Like” on the Judas and the Black Messiah soundtrack in 2021.

The surprises kept coming. Scarface made an unannounced appearance for “This Can’t Be Life” and “Mind Playing Tricks on Me,” while DJ Khaled and John Legend helped close the night with “God Did.” Rihanna was spotted on the floor dancing and posing for photos with fans, and Kendrick Lamar was also among the stars in the house.

The anniversary run — which already hit New York, London, and Paris — wraps with a second SoFi show tonight, Saturday, October 24. If night one is any indication, night two has a lot to live up to.
