HISTORY
Michael Jackson’s run from child star to the King of Pop is unmatched in music history. He first broke out with the Jackson 5, scoring four No. 1 hits in 1970 alone, before going solo with Off the Wall in 1979 and then Thriller in 1982 — the best-selling album of all time. “Billie Jean,” released in January 1983, spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, broke MTV’s color barrier with its landmark short film, and gave the world the moonwalk at Motown 25.
From “Beat It” and “Thriller” to “Smooth Criminal” and “Bad,” Jackson’s catalog is the soundtrack of generations — and a tribute night is how that music keeps filling rooms. For Delaware listeners who grew up on the King of Pop, this is a night to sing along, dance along, and relive the legend up close.
