Ring in 2027: New Year’s Eve Evening of Elegance Gala Lights Up Waterfalls in Claymont, DE
Written by Kiss Media on 23 October 2026
If your New Year’s Eve plans need an upgrade, Claymont has you covered. The New Year’s Eve Evening of Elegance 2027 takes over Waterfalls on Thursday, December 31, 2026, starting at 7 PM — a full black-tie gala built around live R&B, old-school hip-hop, and dancing until the ball drops.
The evening is presented by Samuel Bailey and Wilmington’s Gentlemen of Distinction, an organization established in 1991 — 35 years of putting on the community’s most polished affairs.
The Music
The headline act is Philly’s Expressions of Soul, a live 10-piece R&B and funk band. They’re joined by AJ-The-DJ Rivers on classic dance soul, WDAS’s Doc B presenting Old School R&B and Hip-Hop from the ’80s and ’90s, DJs Selena and Dave of All-In-The-Dance, and karaoke hosted by DJ KayGee.

HISTORY
Wilmington’s Gentlemen of Distinction have been organizing formal social affairs since 1991, carrying a three-and-a-half-decade tradition of black-tie community celebration in northern Delaware. New Year’s Eve galas have long been a cornerstone of that tradition — one night a year when the community trades the club for the ballroom, the playlist spans generations, and everybody counts down together. With a 10-piece live band and DJs covering ’80s and ’90s R&B and hip-hop, this year’s edition is built to keep every generation on the dance floor.
