Sunday is for PHUNDAE. The relaxed, sophisticated game-day social returns to Wilma’s in Wilmington on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM — the ultimate pregame for the Eagles vs. Giants matchup.

PHUNDAE is a Sunday social for football fans who enjoy good company, friendly competition and a more polished game-day atmosphere. Watch the game, enjoy food and drinks, hit the bowling lanes and play arcade and social games throughout the venue, with competitions, prizes and great music all afternoon.

The soundtrack carries Amapiano, Afro House, Afrobeats, House, Caribbean and R&B influences. The event is presented by Hermy Potter (@hermy_potter).

The details: Wilma’s, 900 North Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. Admission is free with an RSVP on Eventbrite. This is a 21-and-over event, and RSVP confirmation and valid ID will be checked at the door. Come picture ready.

History: Amapiano and the Sunday Social

Amapiano emerged from the townships of Johannesburg, South Africa, in the mid-2010s, built on deep house foundations and driven by the distinctive log-drum bassline that became its signature. Pioneered by artists including Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa and Major League DJz, the sound travelled from South African street parties to dance floors around the world, becoming one of the defining sounds of the decade.

Alongside it, Afrobeats — carried globally by stars like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido — has turned African dance music into a worldwide movement. PHUNDAE brings those sounds together with the American Sunday social tradition: the day party as a gathering place, where the game is on, the music is moving and the community shows up dressed to be seen.
